Senators Bill Cassidy, MD (R-LA), Doug Jones (D-AL), Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) today introduced S. 2999, The Primary Care Enhancement Act of 2019. This bipartisan bill is the Senate companion to H.R. 3708, Introduced by Representatives Blumenauer, Nunes, Smith (MO) and Schneider, which passed out of the House Ways and Means Committee in October with a unanimous vote….

These bills, which after almost a decade, are moving through the legislative process with strong bipartisan support, will clear the way for 23 million Americans with high deductible health plans (HDHPs) to be eligible for Direct Primary Care (DPC) if they fund an HSA. The bill creates a simple exception to the dated definition of DPC as a health plan in the tax code for affordable DPC arrangements that cost less than $150 per month. Check out the full article at
